KOROLEVSTVO ILUZIY

KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS is a territory without borders, created for individual culture exchange between civil society and independent artists. The vision of creating this borderless territory is supported by a growing number of people.

Since it's foundation in 2003, KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS created and realized more than 80 culture events and 200 radio shows in Austria, Serbia and Belarus. More than 240 artists and supporters living in different political systems cooperated in cultural activities, which were joined by more than 20.000 people. So far, all projects were realised without basic funding. They were based on the enthusiasm and social competence of bridge-builders | mostovari, which share one common illusion: creating sustainable connections between European citizens living in <Europe INSIDE Europe> with European citizens living in <Europe OUTSIDE Europe>.

With their expertise, these bridge-builders represent the cultural avanguarde of an European community, which does not exist yet.

KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS antizipates the future of Europe as a social network created by it's citizens. This network has nothing to do with (pseudo-)social web 2.0 ghettos. Activists of Kingdom of Illusions develope projects together and they are working <face to face> and <hand in hand>. Cooperation in this framework means to breathe the same air.

KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS promotes face to face cooperation as the social key innovation of the 21st century. If the European citizens remain unable to create Europe as a common social space, then the EU will not succeed.

BRIDGE-BUILDERS | MOSTOVARI
Between Mitrovica and Terespol are thousands of bridges in Europe destroyed or blocked by ideologies, nationalism or dictatorship. The challenge for Europe is to become a continent of bridge-builders. To start this social process on both sides of the EU-borders, KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS claims FREE TRAVELLING VISA NOW! for all citizens living in <Europe outside Europe>. All invisible walls built on the fundament of the current EU visa regime must fall in 2009 like the wall in Berlin was brought down two decades age. No European citizen must feel like she or she has to live in a jail.

In 2009, all new projects of KINGDOM OF ILLUSIONS will focus on this important change in Europe.

Political prisoners in Belarus - the bind spot in Europe's media

05.06.2009 | The audio report covers the situation of Belarusian citizens, who became affected by politically motivated persecution in their motherland. Six sequences are highlighting the aspects: political prisoners / prisoners of conscience / the death of Yana Palyakova / female civil society activists / the situation of repressed mothers / and journalists denied to work in Belarus.

The situation of females is given special attention to meet the significance of women in the sphere of civil society and human rights defenders in Belarus. Activists in these sectors are the main target of political persecution – this is the key for to understand the intention of Belarusian authorities: political persecution is politically motivated persecution of the civil society. The actual situation in the first half of year 2009 confirms this conclusion: among three political prisoners and eleven prisoners of consience, there is not a single politician of the democratic opposition.
